Sage
This a  very strong herb. We like to make croutons for our salad with sage. In a large sauté pan melt 3 TBS
butter and 1 TBS olive oil, 1 tsp salt, 2 TBS chopped sage, 1 finely minced clove of garlic, or scape and ¼ tsp
black pepper. Cut 5 slices of bread into 1 inch squares, toss the bread in the sauté pan over medium heat
until coated and slightly browned. Place in a singe layer on a cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees until the
croutons are toasted and hard. Let them cook and serve them with your salad!
